Tesco’s Teams

Teams are groups of people with clear objectives. In a team the individual members of the group work together and support each other to achieve the objectives.

It is important for any business to have a strong team of staff, without people working effectively in a team the business will not perform to its full potential. Tesco has put a strong emphasis on developing the effectiveness of teams with in each store to achieve their aim “To grow retail services in all our markets” every Tesco employee is encouraged to work towards Tesco’s overall aims and objectives and also probably some aims and objectives for the individual store in which they work in. It’s important for Tesco to have built strong teams within each store so they can achieve their specific aim “To build our team so that we create more value”

  • Are always helpful and friendly to customers and colleagues. Someone who is able to work well in a team, and has a positive approach to helping and supporting customers and colleagues no matter how challenging.
  • Always perform in their job role. Someone who is committed and makes every effort to do a good job for themselves their department, and their store.
  • Are always willing to support their store. Someone who is reliable and turns up to work on time, is smart and tidy and who is ready to roll their sleeves up and get stuck in where ever they are needed.
